Job summary

The Johns Hopkins Surgery Centers in Columbia, MD is seeking Surgical Technicians (Non Certified/Certified) to join a dynamic operating room team. You will scrub for all types of operative procedures, prepare instruments, and maintain a sterile environment under RN supervision.

Position is full-time (40 hours), daytime schedule with no call or weekend obligations. CPR is required prior to hiring; Certification (NCCT or NBSTSA) or eligible status is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Surgical Technician program or Accelerated Alternative Delivery Surgical Technology (AAD-ST) certificate program.
• CPR required prior to hiring
• NON Certified- Education required
• CERTIFIED- Certification ( NCCT or NBSTSA)
• Minimum of two years prior experience as a Surgical Technician required.

Responsibilities

• Under direction of a Registered Nurse performs duties in the operating room to assist the surgical team in surgical services such as scrubbing on all types of operative procedures, obtaining and preparing instruments and equipment and maintaining a clean and safe surgical environment.
• The JHSCS Surgical Technician will flex to the Central Sterile Processing Unit and other areas of the JHSCS when needed to support the daily operations of the JHSCS.

The JHSCS Surgical Technician will flex to the Central Sterile Processing Unit and other areas of the JHSCS when needed to support the daily operations of the JHSCS.

High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of Surgical Technician program or successfully completed an Accelerated Alternative Delivery Surgical Technology (AAD-ST) certificate program.

Minimum of two years prior experience as a Surgical Technician required.

Salary Range: Minimum 28.39/hour - Maximum 46.87/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
