Job summary

Penn Manor School District is seeking a Junior High Boys Wrestling Coach to support the Head Coach in developing the junior high program. This seasonal, part-time role runs during the winter athletic season and focuses on teaching fundamentals, safety, and match preparation.

You will design practice plans, foster a positive team culture, coordinate with the High School Head Coach, and supervise student-athletes during practices and events.

Qualifications

• Ability to build strong relationships with student-athletes, parents, community and staff.
• A passion for working with and developing young athletes.
• Past wrestling experience as an athlete or coach.

Responsibilities

• Teach fundamental wrestling techniques, rules, scoring, and match strategies suitable for junior high skill levels.
• Design and execute daily practice plans that prioritize safety, skill progression, and conditioning.
• Fostering a positive and supportive team culture.
• Adhering to all district and league regulations.
• Collaborate with the High School Head Coach to align technical instruction with varsity expectations.
• Manage match logistics and lineups.
• Supervise student-athletes at all times—during practice, in locker rooms, on buses, and at athletic events.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of wrestling technique and strategies, a passion for working with young athletes, and the ability to assist in creating a positive and challenging learning environment. This is a seasonal, part-time position that runs during the winter athletic season.
