Job summary

JAX Jackson General Hospital is seeking a qualified professional to lead exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation across all rehab phases. You will develop and evaluate individualized programs, communicate with the healthcare team, and document progress in the EMR to support patient outcomes.

The role requires a strong foundation in exercise physiology, cardiopulmonary disease knowledge, and the ability to counsel patients on lifestyle changes. Some insurance and scheduling duties are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications must be obtained within the stated timeframes.
• Preferred: Master's degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science.
• Certification in RCEP or CCRP is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate exercise programs for all rehab phases.
• Document education, progression, and patient responses in EMR and reports.
• Assist with insurance authorization, scheduling, and billing per care plans.
• Interpret stress test results and clinical data; escalate as needed.
• Provide patient education on conditions, goals, and exercise plans.

Conducts stress testing (as needed) and interprets EMG results from stress testing or during exercise; Accurately interprets clinical data and seeks medical evaluation of such data.5. Immediately intervenes when a patient adversely responds to any education, exercise, medications, or treatment. Reports and documents events accordingly.6. Ensures that patients and their support systems understand education provided as to the patient’s medical condition, plan of care, and established exercise goals.7. Creates educational materials and session for patients and provides exercise technique instruction for treatment plans.8. Provides Clinical oversight regarding exercise for all patients at all risk levels.9.
