Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED.
• Read, write, and speak English.
• 1+ year of previous mechanical experience or equivalent required.
• Computer skills include basic keyboarding, Microsoft Office and SAP.

Responsibilities

• Set up all automatic, semi-automatic and hand operated machines so that products meet quality specs.
• Maintain machinery as required.
• Make repairs to machines and notify proper personnel of major repairs.
• Examine machines for defects, dismantle and repair as necessary.
• Create work orders and close PMs on time after completing PM tasks.
• Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled and train operators in proper methods.
• Work with engineering to modify equipment as needed.
• Schedule work and requisition materials.
• Assist in training new personnel in the department.
• Assist team leader in planning and controlling production quality and quantity.
• Ensure safety, quality, delivery, cost and talent objectives.
• Act as a team member with operators and others in the area.
• Ensure product quality after machine repairs.
• Inform team leader of machine problems or stoppages.
• Learn all quality inspections.
• Follow plant safety standards and LOTO procedures.

Essential Responsibilities

• Set up all automatic, semi-automatic and hand operated machines so that all products produced will meet all quality specifications.

• Maintain all machinery as required.

• Make all repairs to machines and notify proper personnel of necessary major repair.

• Examine machines for defects, dismantle and repair as necessary.

• Create work orders and notifications and close PM work orders on time after completing PM task.

• Perform preventive maintenance as dictated by the maintenance planner/Team Leader as scheduled. Instruct operators concerning proper methods for the purpose of attaining maximum quality and quantity production in a professional manner.

• Work with engineering in making recommendations for modifying equipment.

• Schedule work and requisition material as required.

• Assist in training new personnel in all jobs in the department as required.

• Assist team leader in planning and controlling the quality and quantity of production.

• Responsible for: S afety, Q uality, D elivery, C ost and T alent.

• Actively participates as a team member with operators, utilities and all other personnel working in assigned area.

• Responsible for quality of product after machine repairs.

• Ensures product quality meets specifications and proper documentation is completed.

• Responsible for informing team leader of machine problems or other causes of production stoppages.

• Learn all quality inspections.

• Observe all plant safety standards and perform job safety analysis.

• Must know and follow Lock Out procedures and Safety Key Interrupt procedures.

• Routinely check with operators on equipment in a proactive manner for any quality or operational issues.

• Work with limited supervision.

• Regular attendance.

• Other duties as assigned by the Team Leader and required to support the needs of the business.

• May be required to take a leading role, such as assigning activities to other Associates who perform work that is similar or closely related to this position (less than 50% of the time)

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• High school Diploma or GED

• Read, write, and speak English

• 1+ year of previous mechanical experience or equivalent required

• Computer Skills:

Basic Keyboarding and navigational skills

Microsoft Office

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Vocational/Technical School (mechanical field)

• Associates Degree (Major: mechanical field)

• Strong mechanical aptitude with basic mechanical knowledge and skill.

• Proven knowledge of basic mechanical drive systems and components including but not limited to:

• cam motions;

• intermittent motion indexers;

• gear drive transmissions;

• prime movers – electrical motors, etc;

• robots;

• bearings and bushings – repair and replacement;

• timing and synchronization of mechanical drive trains

• Preferred understanding of pneumatic systems including: fluidic and pneumatic components (valves, cylinders, control devices, regulators, flow controls, etc.

• Basic electrical and electronic knowledge sufficient to troubleshoot problems and assist electronic technician in repairs.

• Ability to understand valve diagrams

• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical vibratory feed systems with the ability to repair preferred.

• Basic leadership skill in order to perform incidental supervision.

• Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.

• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.

• Well-developed planning and organizational skills.
