Job summary

Shop LC, an Austin-based jewelry and lifestyle retailer, seeks a Merchandising Assistant to support the jewelry team with invoices, sourcing, vendor relations, product shipments, and data tracking. You will help with inventory control, supplier coordination, and reporting on sales and trends.

The role reports to the Director of Merchandising and involves cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate has retail experience, strong attention to detail, and knowledge of international sourcing.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment is required.
• Ability to read and interpret invoices.
• Knowledge of international sourcing, with emphasis on China, India, Africa, and South America.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical, professional and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inventory control by tracking samples and updating records.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of pre-orders and replenishment.
• Generate reports on sales performance and inventory turnover.
• Conduct research on jewelry trends, customer preferences, and competition.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on market findings.
• Support item code creation and manage purchase orders.
• Organize merchandising materials and product samples.
• Collaborate with merchandising, sales, and marketing for cohesive strategies.
• Participate in meetings and brainstorms for new merchandising ideas.
