Job summary

The City of Albuquerque seeks a licensed Journeyman Electrician to maintain jetbridges, baggage systems, and related electrical infrastructure at the Albuquerque International Sunport. Responsibilities include troubleshooting high/low voltage systems, installing lighting, gates, alarms, and control networks across a busy airport environment.

Five years of relevant experience, NM license EE-98J, and COP within six months are required, along with a valid NM driver's license and security clearance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 5 years of electronic or electrical systems installation, maintenance and repair experience at the journeyman level.
• Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License and COP within six months from date of hire.
• Possession of a valid State of NM Journeyman Electrical EE-98J License; must qualify for and maintain a Sunport Access Control Card; security background check as per TSA.

Responsibilities

• Maintain jetway loading bridges, rotunda, and related components; troubleshoot power supplies and 400 Hz aircraft ground power systems.
• Maintain baggage system; inspect bearings, drive chains/belts, adjust carousel height, inspect for foreign objects, and maintain infrared switches.
• Install, modify and maintain lighting control systems; replace lamps/ballasts; convert to electronic ballast.
• Install/maintain automatic gates and associated electrical components; install and maintain booster transformers.
• Maintain electrical systems including fire alarms, security, surveillance, and emergency generators; perform preventive maintenance.
