Job summary

M1 Support Services' Aircraft Mechanic position is based at Sheppard AFB, TX, and involves maintenance, troubleshooting, and component removal/installation using technical data, schematics, and directives. Qualifications

A working knowledge of jet aircraft systems and of the use of common aircraft hand tools and special tools is required.
Reading and writing and the ability to comprehend technical data is required.
Eighteen (18) months of general aircraft maintenance experience is required.
Possession of a valid driver's license is necessary to obtain flight line driving privileges.

Responsibilities

Uses schematic diagrams and technical publications to remove, install, test and troubleshoot aircraft systems and engines.
Complies with FOD prevention, housekeeping, tool control, environmental and safety programs.
Performs aircraft conditional inspections and servicing tasks.
Operates ground support equipment and documents discrepancies prior to use.
Performs ground movement duties and maintains maintenance records per USAF and company directives.
Orders parts and supplies as needed and follows maintenance directives.
