Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. This position is responsible for the advanced repair and the assigned preventative maintenance of miscellaneous equipment in the Retail area, in order to eliminate down time and meet annual performance goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Scope out work areas to ensure physical safe repair work progression.
  3. Demonstrate an advanced level of mechanical aptitude with knowledge and use of various pieces of equipment not limited to hand, power, industrial tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  4. Previous work experience in welding is a plus.
  5. Meeting all safety and USDA standards.
  6. Clean safety record.
  7. Skills in Metal Fabrication.
  8. Ability to work without supervision.
  9. Must have a working knowledge of computer systems: Ability to input and extract data as it relates to emails and the Computer Maintenance Management; Ability to look up work orders, materials, and historical records relating to plant equipment.
  10. Ability to research online, use hard cover manuals and catalogs to correctly identify the needed repairs and fabrication components for equipment modifications and repair solutions.
  11. PHYSICAL: No restrictions lifting up to 70 pounds.
  12. No restrictions on twisting, bending, squatting, and walking.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic and mechanical control systems.
  2. Work experience performing repairs on electrical and mechanical systems.
  3. Ability to complete a project from beginning to end without supervision.
  4. Associates degree in an applied science related technology or prior experience in manufacturing maintenance.
  5. Previous work experience in plumbing.
  6. Stainless steel sanitary and aluminum welding experience.
  7. Experience in Fabrication Machine Operations such as Milling Machines, Press Brake Operation, Computer Numerical Control (CNC), and Metal Fabrication Equipment.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $21.25 - $36.75 per hour, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
