Job Details

JeffTemps, Jefferson's in-house temporary service, is seeking qualified MRI Technologists to fill a variety of temporary positions. Under the supervision of a radiologist, the MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures to produce detailed tissue images for medical diagnosis. The technologist prepares pertinent information for physician review and provides patient care and education before, during, and after procedures.

Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff consistent with Jefferson's values.
  • Processes and evaluates the technical quality of images, such as density, contrast, definition, and distortion.
  • Maintains critical positioning of the patient and equipment during flow of the contrast media to ensure safety and examination success.
  • Instructs patients on body positioning during MRI exams and demonstrates effective communication, explaining procedures before and after scanning and answering questions.
  • Determines equipment requirements based on the physician's tentative diagnoses and scout films necessary for preliminary viewing.
  • Maintains MRI equipment through scheduled cleaning, testing, and documentation; reports malfunctions.
  • Implements MRI safety guidelines and conducts safety procedures during imaging.
  • Performs other related duties as directed by the lead technologist, supervisor, or manager, including quality assurance and control tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
