Job Details

Jefferson's in-house temp service, JeffTemps, is seeking qualified Echocardiography Diagnostic Technologists to support our South Philadelphia hospital on a per diem basis. The Echocardiography Diagnostic Technologist performs comprehensive echocardiographic examinations, including M-mode, two-dimensional, and Doppler Echocardiography on clinical and research patients. They assist Cardiologists, Fellows, or other personnel in transesophageal and stress echocardiographic examinations. The technologist may also help coordinate patient flow, staff assignments, educational support, and uphold high standards of quality in accordance with IAC standards for Echocardiography.

Job Description

Essential Functions

  1. Interact professionally with co-workers, visitors, and staff, embodying Jefferson's values.
  2. Escort patients from waiting areas to examination rooms, review written histories, and explain procedures.
  3. Perform echocardiograms (2D, M-mode, color Doppler) per department policies and physician orders.
  4. Conduct trans-esophageal echocardiograms (TEE) on non-operative or intra-operative basis as per policy.
  5. Perform dobutamine and stress echocardiograms according to department standards.
  6. Accurately log patient and test data for billing and record-keeping.
  7. Monitor, maintain, and repair clinical equipment to ensure testing quality and safety.
  8. Maintain images within the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  9. Clean, disinfect, and sterilize clinical equipment to ensure safety from pathogens.
  10. Participate in on-call duties as per department policy and perform other assigned duties.
