Job Details

JeffTemps, Jefferson's in-house temporary service, is seeking a qualified Dental Assistant to support the Dental Clinic in Abington. The Dental Surgical Assistant will support members of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the resident staff by providing chairside surgical support for oral and maxillofacial procedures and facial pain physicians. The assistant will perform a wide variety of surgical procedures with competency.

Job Description

Essential Functions

1. Interact with co-workers, visitors, and staff in accordance with Jefferson's values.
2. Provide surgical support to oral and maxillofacial surgeons and facial pain physicians.
3. Maintain logs necessary for inspections and certifications.
4. Sterilize instrumentation and prepare tray setups in a sterile environment.
5. Take, develop, and label radiographs appropriately.
6. Reprocess and sterilize equipment, and prepare tray setups per protocol.
7. Maintain sterile technique while assisting in sterile OMFS procedures.
8. Proficient in radiographs including CBCT, Peri-apical, and Panorex x-rays.
9. Follow clinical policies, procedures, and workflows to ensure compliance with the Joint Commission, OSHA, ADA, and Jefferson's safety, infection control, and quality standards.
10. Maintain patient electronic medical records per OMFS workflows.
11. Ensure patient safety following BLS guidelines and maintain current BLS certification.
