Job summary

Delan Associates Inc. in Richmond, VA is seeking a Java Technical Lead for an 18-month contract.

The role is onsite (5 days) and requires strong hands-on experience in Java development, Spring Boot, RESTful services, and microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will lead API integration, oversee performance tuning, and mentor a team of developers while collaborating with DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and API gateways.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of Java development experience.
• Strong understanding of making REST API calls and integrating with APIs exposing microservices.
• Proficient in Java Spring Boot, Web services, and API Gateway (RESTful).
• Experience with databases such as MySQL and Oracle.
• Familiar with Camunda, JBoss Fuse, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Kafka, and IBM MQ code bases.
• Ability to drive root cause analysis independently.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of DevOps tools (Jenkins, Docker, Tomcat) and Agile methodologies.

Skills Required

• 12+ years of experience in Java development.
• Strong Understanding of making Rest API calls.
• Able to integrate with and managing APIs exposing Microservices (REST, SOAP) including development and support of Java/JavaScript services.
• Good understanding in Java Spring Boot and Web services, Message Oriented, API Gateway (RESTful API).
• Strong understanding MYSQL and Oracle databases.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to individually drive a root cause analysis process.
• Experience in handling development & analysis of Camunda, JBoss Fuse, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Kafka, IBM MQ code bases.
• Good communication skill (verbal/written).
• Knowledge on DevOps Tools, Jenkins, Docker, Tomcat configuration, Kubernetes.
• Knowledge on Agile / Agile Craft.
