Job summary

Glider AI is seeking a senior software engineer in McLean, VA to design and build scalable microservices with Java/Spring Boot and REST. You will collaborate with frontend teams (Angular/React) and deploy cloud-native solutions on AWS, using PostgreSQL for data storage.

You will contribute to DevOps pipelines, security, monitoring, and performance improvements while exploring Gen AI features, RAG, and prompt engineering to enhance AI products.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of design and development of Java/J2EE applications using Spring, Spring Boot and RESTful services.
• 2+ years of microservices design and development with Spring Boot and REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of ORM with JPA/Hibernate.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• 2+ years with Angular or ReactJS.
• 1+ years implementing cloud solutions on AWS (EC2, IAM, S3, Lambda).
• Good PostgreSQL knowledge; solid SQL and data modelling.
• DevOps toolchain exposure: Jenkins, Artifactory, Maven/Gradle, Git.
• Applied Gen AI development for 2+ years; familiar with LLMs, RAG, fine-tuning and prompt engineering.
• Experience with code assistants like GitHub Copilot, Kiro, Claude Code; familiarity with AWS Bedrock.
• Proficient in Python; knowledge of LangChain and LangGraph is a plus.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.

Job description

• 10+ years of experience in Design and Development of applications using Java 8+/J2EE, Spring, Spring-Boot, RESTful Services and UI Framework
• 2+ years of experience in design and development of Microservice using Spring-Boot and REST API
• Strong knowledge/experience in ORM Framework - JPA / Hibernate
• Good knowledge and experience in Docker and Kubernetes
• 2+ years of experience in any one of the UI Framework - Angular / ReactJS
• 1+ years of experience in designing and Implementing cloud-based solutions in various AWS Services (EC2, IAM, S3, Lambda, etc.)
• Good knowledge and experience in any RDBMS/PostgreSQL
• Strong experience in DevOps tool chain (Jenkins, Artifactory, Maven/Gradle, GIT/BitBucket)
• Good knowledge in technical concepts – Security, Transaction, Monitoring, Performance
• Minimum 2+ years focused on applied Gen AI development.
• Good experience in any one of the Code Assistant Tools like GitHub Copilot, Kiro, Claude Code, etc
• Familiarity with managed LLM platforms such as AWS Bedrock
• Hands-on experience with various LLMs, RAG, fine-tuning, prompt engineering.
• Good knowledge in Python, LangChain, LangGraph– Added advantage
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent

Good to have:

• Experience with OAuth implementation using Ping Identity
• Familiarity with API Management (Apigee) and Service Mesh (Istio)
• Experience with Elasticsearch, Logstash & Kibana
• Good knowledge and experience in any Queue based implementations
• Good knowledge and experience in NoSQL (MongoDB), GraphQL
• Experience with scripting languages using Unix, Python
