Job summary

Sigmoid in the United States (New Jersey) seeks a Java Support Engineer to sustain a portfolio of eight critical applications within our Data Engineering ecosystem. You will monitor support queues, triage incidents, and coordinate with global development teams to ensure timely resolutions while supporting Java Spring Boot applications and REST-based services.

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of Java applications, preferably Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, HTTP methods and common integration issues.
• Experience in incident management, triaging, and restoration procedures.
• Understanding of SDLC, deployment and maintenance workflows.

Responsibilities

• Monitor support queues, triage incidents, and manage tickets to resolution.
• Investigate issues using runbooks, logs, KB articles, and diagnostics.
• Escalate complex issues to global SMEs and coordinate across time zones.
• Support Java Spring Boot apps and REST-based services for users.
• Provide timely updates to technical and business stakeholders.
• Assist with user access provisioning and entitlement maintenance.
• Maintain runbooks and knowledge bases; contribute to documentation.
• Identify recurring issues and opportunities for automation.
• Learn supported applications and data engineering dependencies.
