Job summary

Infosys is seeking a Technology Consultant 2 in Charlotte, NC to contribute across the full SDLC for financial services software. You will gather requirements, participate in design discussions, and implement features in Java-based microservices while ensuring quality and stability.

The role requires strong Java/J2EE, Spring MVC/Boot, RESTful/SOAP services, JSP/Hibernate, and frontend scripting. Some on-site work in the US may be required; relocation/travel could be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• US work authorization required; relocation/travel may be needed.
• Experience in core Java, OOP, J2EE and Spring ecosystems is essential.

In the assigned Job Role of Technology Consultant 2, your Area Of Responsibility will be as below:

• Contribute to the requirements elicitation process by documenting assigned parts of business requirements, in line with guidance provided
• Facilitate software application design discussions, and document design decisions to guide the technical team towards building software solutions
• Participate in coding and integrate new features or updates into existing applications, with a focus on maintaining system stability
• Conduct code reviews, do changes to the codebase and maintain code repositories
• Implement test strategies, analyse results, and coordinate bug fixes to uphold the software quality standards
• Develop user training programs, documentation, and support frameworks to ensure a smooth transition to new software applications
• Actively participate in resolving production issues and recommend preventive strategies to enhance system reliability
• Maintain detailed records of code, testing techniques, and support activities to enrich the knowledge base and assist other similar projects

Required Skill And Experience

• Experience in Core Java, object-oriented programming (OOP) principles, and J2EE technologies.
• Experience in Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and microservices-based architectures.
• Experience in design, develop, and maintain RESTful and SOAP-based services.
• Experience working with JSP, Hibernate, and front-end scripting technologies such as JavaScript.

Preferred Skill And Experience

• Experience working with at least one major cloud platform, with AWS preferred, and exposure to GCP or Azure.
• Analyze, understand, and modify complex existing codebases to support evolving business and technical requirements.
• Deploy, configure, and manage applications on enterprise application servers such as WebSphere and JBoss.
• Participate across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.

Contribute to both new development and application

• Maintenance initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with production support teams to diagnose and resolve production issues, including defects and performance bottlenecks.

Additional Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
