Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in Irving, TX is seeking a Digital Software Engineer Intermediate Analyst to contribute to modern digital applications and services. You will develop, test, and support Java-based microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native solutions in an Agile team.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of experience with Java and Spring Boot, cloud platforms, and CI/CD. You will learn AI-assisted development tools and participate in code reviews, testing, and security-focused engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of software engineering experience (internships or co-ops count).
• Experience developing applications with Java and Spring Boot.
• Basic understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with cloud-native development and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Exposure to event-driven architectures, messaging, or asynchronous processing.
• Experience developing, consuming, or supporting RESTful APIs and system integrations.
• Understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and modern engineering practices.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and development tools.
• Knowledge of Docker and exposure to Kubernetes/OpenShift is a plus.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and apply AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications using Spring Boot and REST APIs.
• Support cloud-native applications and services.
• Develop event-driven solutions using messaging technologies.
• Build and support API integrations between internal and external systems.
• Write secure, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering standards.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and Agile ceremonies.
• Troubleshoot issues with guidance from senior engineers.
• Adopt CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and DevSecOps practices.
• Utilize AI-powered developer tools to improve productivity and code quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technology solutions.
• Continuously expand knowledge of cloud, microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
