General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Software Engineer (Subject Matter Expert) to join our team supporting Government activities in Chantilly, VA. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and managing frontend/backend technologies, building reusable UI components, and ensuring accessibility.

The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, REST APIs, SQL, and modern frontend frameworks.

Qualifications

Demonstrated hands-on experience programming web and client/server applications using Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with upgrading Spring boot, Hibernate/JPA especially from much older versions to newer versions.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with frontend frameworks such as Vue, React, or Angular.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with database design and querying (SQL, Oracle).
Demonstrated hands-on experience with Git (GitHub, Gitlab, etc.).
Demonstrated hands-on experience building APIs and services using REST.
Experience working in Agile development environment.
Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate activities including information systems, systems analysis.
Performs day-to-day technical oversight your internal roadmap, develop long-term and strategic objectives to ensure that end user requirements will be satisfied.
Performs horizontal integration planning, and interface with other functional areas, ensuring technical solutions and schedules are implemented in a timely manner.
Demonstrated experience working independently on routine and new tasks/initiatives.
Demonstrated experience researching the latest technological developments in the relevant operating systems to identify impact on organization operating systems and to anticipate changes.

GDIT is seeking an experienced Software Engineer Full Stack Developer to join our team of building scalable, maintainable and high-performance applications. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing application frontend and/or backend framework and technologies. You will work closely with our development team to build reusable UI components, optimize UI performance and ensure accessibility.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Demonstrated experience with testing frameworks (JUnit, Cypress)
Demonstrated experience with ServiceNow
Familiarity with Kubernetes
