Job summary

Cimarron Software Services, Inc. is hiring a Java Software Engineer to support a software team in Seal Beach or El Segundo, CA. The role focuses on designing, developing, testing, and maintaining non-embedded software for systems integrations, with emphasis on Java and ReactJS.

Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree, TS/SCI clearance, and 1+ year ReactJS plus 2+ years Java experience in Linux environments. Onsite work with up to 10% travel and a strong DevOps background are expected.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of ReactJS development experience.
  • 2+ years of Java development experience.
  • 2+ years in Linux/Unix environments.
  • 2+ years of Java frameworks/tools (Spring Boot, WildFly, JPA, Maven).
  • 2+ years of Agile methodologies experience.
  • Experience with DevOps tools (GitLab CI/CD, Git Bash, Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, Artifactory).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

Position Introduction/Key Duties

Cimarron is seeking a Java Software Engineer to support a Software team located in Seal Beach, CA or El Segundo, CA.

Key Duties:
  • Reviews, analyzes, and translates customer requirements into initial design of software products.
  • Develops, maintains, enhances and optimizes software products and functionalities for systems integrations.
  • Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products.
  • Debugs and resolves issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products.
  • Handles user inquiries, troubleshoots technical issues and user feedback analysis.
  • Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development.
  • Develops, establishes, monitors and improves software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks.
  • Executes and documents software research and development projects.
  • Advises on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.
  • Designs, develops, tests, and maintains non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • 1 or more years of development experience using ReactJS.
  • 2 or more years of development experience using Java.
  • 2 ore more years of experience working under a Linux/Unix environment.
  • 2 or more years of experience in Java and associated frameworks and tools such as Spring Boot, WildFly, JPA, Maven.
  • 2 or more years of experience in using Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with application DevOps tools, such as GitLab (CI/CD), Git Bash, Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Level 3: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 5+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years of directly related work experience OR 13+ years of related, relevant experience.
  • Level 4: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 9+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 13+ years of directly related work experience OR 17+ years of related, relevant experience.
  • 5 or moreyears of experience in Java, React, C++.
  • 5 or moreyears of experience in Windows, Linux, and AWS environments.
  • 5 or more years of experience in Windows based IDEs, Linux based IDEs, Maven, Git, Gitlab.
  • 2 or moreyears of experience in AWS environments.
  • 2 or moreyears of experience in using Agile methodologies, and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, BitBucket).
  • Knowledge of specification format requirements, guidelines, and change control processes.
  • Understanding of relationship between specifications/standards.
  • Knowledge of software programming languages and databases and the ability to apply to the software domain. Programming languages encompass higher order languages and auto-coded languages.
  • Knowledge of how to derive and allocate requirements (e.g., system, sub-system, software) and show traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of software architecture and design methodologies.
  • Ability to synthesize software architectures and designs that meet requirements, characteristics and constraints.
  • Knowledge of software development processes in compliance with established internal and industry standards, guidelines, and best practices in the development, testing, and deployment of software.
  • Knowledge of general and software development and testing tools, capability and usage. Examples include compilers, linkers, debuggers, data analysis tools, graphical user interface builders, post processing tools, requirements management tools, and web authoring tools.
  • Knowledge of domains, characteristics, constraints and products that require software and influence architecture, requirements, interfaces, designs, and integration/test approaches. Domain examples include data processing, ground support, tools and analysis models. Examples of characteristics and constraints that impact software include operating systems, fidelity and information processing capacity. Examples of products include aircraft, missiles, airborne/shipboard/space systems/ground-based support systems.
  • Knowledge of implementation, validation, and verification processes, practices, and guidelines to ensure software development quality, performance, and safety.
