Job summary

Strategic Data Systems, Inc. (SDS) is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design and build scalable Java EE applications with a focus on Spring Boot and microservices.

You will work across the full development lifecycle, from design to testing, and contribute to cloud deployments on AWS using Terraform. The role requires 10+ years of hands-on Java experience, strong knowledge of cloud architectures and event-driven patterns, and a proven track record delivering complex software for enterprise

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Java development and full software lifecycle
• Strong understanding of cloud architectures and microservices
• Experience with AWS deployment and Terraform tooling
• Proficient in Java EE, Spring Framework, and ORM (Hibernate/JPA)
• Familiarity with K8s/OpenShift and related DevOps practices
• Ability to design performant, scalable enterprise applications

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java/Java EE applications across the full software lifecycle
• Lead design and implementation of microservices and event-driven components
• Collaborate with cloud and DevOps teams to deploy on AWS using Terraform
• Define system features and priorities; design UI and backend integration

What You’ll Do

Job Summary:

Java developer roles and responsibilities include managing Java/Java EE application development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing.

Primary Responsibilities:

Defines site objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality.

Designs and develops user interfaces to internet/intranet applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycle.

Determining design methodologies and tool sets; completing programming using languages and software products.

Designing and conducting tests.

Troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.

Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools.

Qualifications:

Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms.

Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.

Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate).

Experience in the Spring Framework.

Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC).
