Job summary

Set of X is seeking a Java Software Engineer with Python experience to support the design, development, integration, and optimization of complex software systems for government contracts. The ideal candidate will analyze user requirements, develop high-performance solutions, and collaborate closely with engineers and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph plus a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline; 4 years of SWE experience may substitute for degree.
Strong Java production experience; hands-on Python in production environments.
Experience debugging, integration, and performance optimization.
Knowledge of database design and complex query development.
Familiarity with Agile or similar software development methodologies.

Responsibilities

Analyze requirements to define software design and performance standards.
Design, develop, test, and modify Java- and Python-based applications.
Debug, troubleshoot, and enhance existing software for performance and reliability.
Integrate software into new or existing systems and environments.
Develop and implement algorithms and database queries.
Produce and review technical documentation for software and systems.
Support testing activities and assist in test procedures generation.
Provide input on development standards and process improvements.
Act as technical lead when required to support team coordination.
