iQuasar LLC is seeking a Java Lead Backend Developer to join our team in Chicago. The role focuses on design, development, and deployment of a state-of-the-art digital platform as part of a contract engagement.

The candidate will lead backend development with Java, implement RESTful services, and collaborate across geographically distributed teams using AWS, DevOps practices, and modern CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 10+ years designing and developing software applications in Java
• Minimum of 3+ years leading geographically disbursed teams
• Strong Java 17 and backend development experience
• Experience with RESTful web services and AWS stack

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform QA across the full SDLC.
• Validate changes in non-production environments before production.
• Develop and maintain test cases, scripts, and data.

iQuasar LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Java Lead Backend Developer to join our growing team. As a Java Lead Engineer you will contribute to design, development and deployment of the Company's state-of-the-art digital platform.

We are seeking a Java Lead Backend Developer for a contract position.

Position Details

• Position: Java Lead Backend Developer
• Position Type: Full-time

Role Specific Duties/ Role Responsibilities:

• Plan and perform quality assurance activities across the full SDLC.
• Validate application changes in development, test, staging, or other non-production environments before production promotion.
• Develop and maintain automated and manual test cases, scripts, suites, data, and evidence.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain or support testing and quality gates using Selenium, SonarQube, Jenkins, and related tools.
• Validate functional requirements and user-story acceptance criteria.
• Perform or coordinate regression, integration, system, performance, and release testing.
• Validate Section 508 conformance for releases containing applicable ICT or user-interface functionality.
• Identify defects, document reproducible results, and work with engineers through resolution and retesting.
• Review security scan and code-quality results as part of release readiness.
• Monitor test coverage and recommend improvements to automated testing.
• Support User Acceptance Testing when required by the federal customer.
• Produce test plans, test scripts, test results, defect evidence, and release-quality documentation.
• Support production incident analysis by validating fixes and regression impacts

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
• Required Skills for the Java Lead Engineer:
• 10+ years' experience of designing and developing software applications in Java
• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in leading geographically disbursed teams
