Job summary

Compunnel, Inc. is seeking an experienced JAVA/J2EE Technical Lead to provide leadership for AMS in a Property & Casualty insurance environment. You will guide production support, maintenance, enhancements, and releases while ensuring stability, performance, security, and SLAs.

The role acts as a liaison between client stakeholders and onsite/offshore teams, leading L2/L3 support, code reviews, mentoring, and driving AI-assisted engineering practices to improve delivery and quality.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software development, application support, or AMS, with proven experience as a Technical Lead or Team Lead.
• Strong hands-on Java/J2EE enterprise development with Spring, REST/SOAP, JPA/Hibernate, JDBC, and Microservices.
• Experience with JBoss/WildFly, Tomcat, and deployments, JVM troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
• Experience with IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse, Git, Maven/Gradle, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and code quality tools.
• Strong experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server, including SQL development, troubleshooting, data analysis, and performance tuning.
• Proven experience leading L2/L3 production support, incidents, RCA, and end-to-end release management.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and Generative AI for coding, code reviews, testing, debugging, and productivity.
• Strong understanding of Property & Casualty insurance processes and policy lifecycle.
• Demonstrated ability to lead onsite/offshore teams, manage priorities and delivery commitments, conduct code reviews, and drive engineering best practices.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite and offshore teams delivering AMS for P&C environments.
• Oversee Java application development, maintenance, enhancements, integrations, and modernization while ensuring standards.
• Coordinate L2/L3 production support and ensure timely incident resolution within SLAs.
• Perform RCA, Major Incident resolution, and preventive improvements for stability.
• Provide technical leadership for servers like JBoss/WildFly, Tomcat, including deployment and performance tuning.
• Manage full development lifecycle from design to production support.
• Lead enterprise integrations using REST APIs, SOAP, JSON/XML, and middleware.
• Oversee end-to-end releases across Development, QA, UAT, and Production with various teams.
• Mentor team members, drive knowledge sharing, and promote AI-assisted development practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate status, risks, and priorities.
