Job summary

BNY is seeking a Java Full Stack Developer to join the Derivatives Technology team in New York City. This hands-on role focuses on building new applications and workflows for Middle Office derivatives and OTC valuation, with ~50/50 Java and Angular/React coding.

The initial 6-month contract requires strong Java 17+ experience, Spring Boot and front-end skills, plus experience with CI/CD and AI-assisted development. On-site at the World Trade Center four days a week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional hands-on software engineering and coding experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong Java 17+ development experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new applications and workflows using Java/Spring Boot and Angular or React.
• Build scalable Java 17+ services, REST APIs, microservices, and message-driven applications.
• Develop integrations and asynchronous workflows using Kafka and MQ with internal/external services.
• Build front-end features with Angular or React and integrate with backend services.
• Write and troubleshoot SQL queries in Oracle and data-related issues.
• Contribute to a new product/workflow platform with production-ready functionality.
• Support AI-assisted engineering to accelerate development and testing.
• Maintain code quality with unit tests, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
