Job summary

Level Up, LLC, a Virginia-based IT solutions provider, seeks a full-time software engineer to develop and enhance applications using Java and modern front-end tech. You’ll work on existing systems and new features, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable software for government and commercial clients.

Candidates should have strong Java, HTML/CSS/JavaScript and Spring, RESTful services, SQL with Hibernate/JPA, and Git.

Qualifications

• Strong Java programming/development skills with hands-on experience.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular.
• Experience with Spring Framework and RESTful services.
• Experience with SQL and ORM (Hibernate/JPA).
• Git branching and merging within a team to manage source code.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and communicate with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and modify software systems, applications, and tools, both existing and potentially new in the future.
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
• Collaborate with teammates, other service providers, vendors, and users to develop new program features.
• Develop unit and integration tests, and participate in functional and regression tests to ensure correctness.
• Correct errors by making changes and re-checking the program to ensure the desired result.
• Participate in code reviews by reviewing feedback and providing input based on standards.
• Deploy code to development, test, and production environments using DevOps infrastructure/tools.
• Review help desk messages and work with other teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Organize and maintain documentation of application development and revisions.
