Job summary

Agile Defense, Inc. is seeking a Java Engineer II to design and evolve distributed backend services and APIs in a Hub-and-Spoke architecture. You will contribute to OpenFGA data model features, unit/integration tests, and code quality under guidance from senior engineers.

Responsibilities include implementing endpoints, maintaining microservices, and supporting CI/CD improvements. Onsite twice weekly in Rosslyn, VA; annual compensation ranges from $115,000 to $140,000, with a security clearance

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building backend services and APIs is required.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and AWS services.

Responsibilities

• Implement API endpoints and business logic for wrapper service
• Develop features for OpenFGA data model management
• Write unit tests and integration tests
• Debug and resolve software defects
• Assist with documentation and code examples
• Participate in code reviews and team ceremonies
• Support onboarding team with technical questions
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements
