Job summary

Priceline is seeking a Java Engineer to join a fast-paced tech team. You will help design and develop backend services, REST APIs, and data pipelines to support high-volume travel searches.

You will contribute to low-latency, scalable systems, work within a cross-functional Agile team, and participate in CI/CD with automation testing. The role supports a hybrid work model with two in-office days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering and development experience.
• Strong coding in Core Java and SQL.
• Experience with Spring Frameworks, Web Services and APIs.
• Proficiency with server-side JavaScript/Node.js and Git/Gitflow.
• Experience with Microservices, Kubernetes, Docker and cloud platforms (GCP/AWS).

Responsibilities

• Participate in critical projects shaping Priceline's roadmap and tech.
• Work in a cross-functional agile team to deliver on product objectives.

This role is eligible for our hybrid work model: Two days in-office.

In this role you will get to:

• Participate in critical projects with direct impact on the evolution of Priceline's business.
• Be part of a cross-functional agile team that continuously experiments, iterates and delivers on new product objectives.
• Showcase your development skills of Core Java or similar programming languages.
• Apply your programming skills towards building low latency and high throughput transactional services with continuous integration and automation testing.
• Implement SQL composition skills that collects and queries data for investigation and analysis in real time from our applications.
• Utilize your knowledge to understand our codebase, systems and business requirements to effectively make changes to our applications.
• Effectively collaborate and engage in team efforts, speak up for what you think are the best solutions and be able to converse respectfully and compromise when necessary.

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering and development.
• Coding experience with Core Java or similar programming languages.
• Thorough SQL compositions skills for composing queries and analysis.
• Comfort and experience with Spring Frameworks, Web Services and APIs.
• Established and proven expertise with server side Javascript and Node. js, an Influencer of the use of Git and Gitflow.
• Experience in Microservices, Kubernetes, Dockers is a big positive.
• Experience with developing on Cloud, especially GCP and AWS.
• Illustrated history of living the values necessary to Priceline: Customer, Innovation, Team, Accountability and Trust.

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, certain roles may be eligible for an annual bonus and/or equity grant.

The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000 USD.
