NTT DATA Romania is seeking a skilled Java Developer with AWS expertise to design and implement distributed workflows for a major financial services client. You will build serverless integrations, leverage AWS Step Functions, and align architectures with enterprise standards.

The role emphasizes autonomous delivery, robust CI/CD practices, and collaboration with onshore/offshore teams to ensure cloud-native HR workflows run reliably in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Strong AWS development experience.

• Good understanding of event-driven / serverless architectures.
• Strong backend development skills (Java or JVM‑based).

Who we are

We are looking for a skilled Java Developer with AWS to join our team and support innovative backend development initiatives for our client, a leading British multinational in financial services and asset management. As part of your responsibilities, you will design and implement workflow, build and manage distributed workflows leveraging AWS Step Functions. Your expertise will help streamline key HR processes, including time tracking, leave management, and essential HR workflows, ensuring seamless, cloud‑native performance in a highly regulated environment.

What you’ll be doing

• Building and managing distributed workflows using AWS Step Functions

• Developing serverless applications and integrations using AWS services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge)

• Designing scalable, event-driven architectures aligned with enterprise standards

• Integrating workflow solutions with backend systems and external APIs

• Participating in architecture discussions and defining technical solutions

• Ensuring high code quality through best practices, testing, and code reviews

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams across delivery locations (onshore/offshore)

• Supporting deployment and CI/CD processes in cloud environments

What you’ll bring along
