Job summary

CGI Technologies and Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Java Developer to join the Applications Development and Maintenance team in Phoenix, AZ.

In-office, 5 days a week, you will develop and maintain Java front-end modules, implement scalable Java-based apps, and participate in agile planning with analysts and leads. You will design secure applications, optimize SQL queries, work with Oracle PL/SQL, and develop real-time data pipelines using Apache Kafka, OpenShift, and CI/CD with Jenkins.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on software development experience with Java, Spring Boot, SQL, Kafka, Oracle PL/SQL.
• Experience with Java build tools and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) and containerization.
• Proficient in developing and deploying scalable Java-based applications.
• Strong understanding of event-driven architecture and messaging systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and code reviews in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, support, maintain, and implement Java front-end based modules.
• Translate requirements into scalable Java-based applications using Java, React and Python.
• Participate in planning sessions with technical leads and analysts.
• Contribute to design reviews ensuring security and data flow considerations.
• Design and optimize SQL queries; work with Oracle PL/SQL.
• Develop event-driven architecture using Apache Kafka for real-time data processing.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines; build CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.
• Deploy, manage, and scale applications on OpenShift.
• Provide coaching on microservices, architecture, and development processes.
• Act as a technical advisor on system design and integration tasks.
• Gather requirements, write specs, review code, and assist QA to fix bugs.
