Job summary

DataQuad is seeking an experienced Java developer to join as an Agentic AI-focused engineer. You will work on Java/J2EE applications in an AWS cloud environment, collaborating in an Agile setting with emphasis on robust design and high-quality code.

The role requires strong Java skills, experience with AWS, Kafka, and Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE). You will participate in coding tests, interviews, and client-facing sessions to deliver on project milestones.

Qualifications

• Strong Java/J2EE development experience in AWS cloud environments.
• Experience with Agile development processes is preferred.
• Proficient in design, coding, testing, maintenance and debugging of applications.
• Experience with JUnit and Cucumber testing.

Role: Java with Agentic AI Developer

Location: New York, NY/ Columbus, OH/ Wilmington, DE

Mode of Hire: Contract W2 only (6-12+ months)

3-5 years of experience

Must Have : Advance Java coding, AWS, Kafka & FDE (Forward Deployed Engineering)

Note: Candidate Must have IDE Setup (Eclipse, IntelliJ) for Coding test during the interview. Online Compiler is not allowed during coding test.

Job Description:

Key Requirements:

• Strong Application Development work experience using Java/J2EE in AWS cloud environment
• Agile environment preferred
• Solid application design, coding, testing, maintenance and debugging skills
• Experience with Junit and Cucumber testing.
• Experience with APM Monitoring tools and logging tools like Splunk
• Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence (preferred).
• AWS solution implementation hands on experience are mandatory.
• Subject matter expert having experience of interacting with client, understanding the requirement and guiding the team.
• Documenting the requirements clearly with defined scope and must play an anchor role in setting the right expectations and delivering as per the schedule.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code or Amazon Q
• Understanding of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, Vector databases and semantic search.
• Knowledge of AI security, prompt engineering, hallucination mitigation and responsible AI practices.
