Job summary

Greycell Labs Inc. in Albany, NY is seeking an on-site Java Developer to support the NYS Tax Modernization program.

The role requires extensive J2EE experience, Spring/Struts, SQL, and messaging technologies. You will contribute to data processing, business rules, and UI layering to handle high-volume exchanges securely.

This 30-month contract with ITS offers exposure to modernization efforts across Collections, Taxpayer Accounting, and Withholding processes.

Qualifications

• 60 months experience with J2EE including JDBC, JSP and XML.
• 60 months experience developing, building, and testing Java EE applications using IDEs such as Eclipse, NetBeans, or IntelliJ.
• 60 months experience using J2EE frameworks such as Spring or Struts and Application Servers such as Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere or WebLogic.
• 60 months experience writing SQL statements for relational databases
• 60 months of experience in system analysis and design of software architecture that splits data processing, business rules, and user interfaces into separate, independent layers to handle complex, high-volume exchanges securely and efficiently
• 36 months of experience in messaging technologies, such as MQ, JMS, Kafka.

This program will encompass multiple projects to modernize legacy systems within the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance, which is responsible for billions in state revenue. Some of the major areas under modernization include:
