Job summary

Avum, Inc. is seeking Java Developers at varying experience levels to support the design, development, integration, and maintenance of enterprise software applications for Federal Government customers.

This role develops Java applications, collaborates with Agile teams, and supports secure, reliable software solutions for mission critical programs. Responsibilities and level of ownership will align with experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE/IS or related field.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and web services.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, or similar Java frameworks.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with source control tools such as Git.
• Understanding of software development practices, including testing, debugging, and code reviews.
• Ability to collaborate within an Agile development team.
• Ability to communicate technical information and maintain clear documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java applications and services.
• Translate business and technical requirements into software solutions.
• Develop and maintain APIs, backend systems, and integrations.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, QA engineers, and stakeholders.
• Participate in sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
• Troubleshoot defects and support root cause analysis.
• Write unit tests and support automated testing efforts.
• Participate in code reviews and adhere to security standards.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Support deployments and production releases.
• Contribute to technical design decisions and mentor developers.
