About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Java Software Developer to join our dynamic team. This remote position welcomes candidates across Canada and the United States. You will play a critical role in designing, developing, and supporting software components within our product suite, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet client needs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software components across the NorthStar product suite
• Create and maintain automated tests for continuous integration
• Investigate and resolve defects and production support incidents
• Participate in requirement discussions and provide accurate estimations
• Offer technical advice and analytical support during development phases
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality
• Take ownership of tasks and deliver them on time
• Recommend improvements for development and support processes
• Apply best practices in configuration management and version control
• Maintain technical documentation including design specs, user guides, and API documentation
• Provide regular updates on work progress in daily stand-ups and through status reports
• Collaborate effectively with software developers, quality analysts, and UX designers
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience with Java EE development
• At least 2 years working with Microsoft SQL Server or similar RDBMS
• Experience with web-based APIs including SOAP and REST
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Genero or Informix-4GL is a plus
• Familiarity with API automation testing frameworks such as Karate
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with cloud-based integration platforms (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions)
• Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Bamboo, Git, and Maven
