Job summary

SubscribeIT Solutions seeks a mid-to-senior Java developer to own features end-to-end in a production system. You will work with Open Liberty, Jakarta EE, and a modern CI/CD stack while collaborating with a remote delivery team.

You will design and tune the JVM, manage SQL schemas, and drive testing across DEV/QA/UAT, including UAT planning with business users when QA resources are limited. This role emphasizes strong communication and ownership.

Qualifications

• Mid- to senior-level Java developer with 10–15 years of production systems experience.
• Must have Java and Open Liberty expertise.
• Strong, current Java development experience.
• Deep Open Liberty server configuration, deployment and runtime troubleshooting.
• Solid knowledge of Jakarta EE / Java EE building blocks (Servlets, JAX-RS, JPA, JMS, CDI, EJB where applicable).
• Experience with JVM tuning, thread-dump/heap-dump analysis and basic performance triage.
• Solid relational database engineering skills: SQL, query tuning, indexing, transactions.
• Ownership of backlog items end-to-end and testing across DEV/QA/UAT.
• Familiar with test-data setup, regression coverage and verifying fixes against a real DB; able to execute UAT plans with business users if QA is unavailable.
• Delivery mindset with strong written and verbal communication; experience in remote, distributed teams; Git workflows; CI/CD concepts.

Responsibilities

• Take a backlog item from requirements through delivery without daily supervision.
• Self-sufficient in testing: unit, integration, and structured end-to-end tests across DEV/QA/UAT.
• Define and execute test data setups, regression coverage, and verify fixes against a real database.
• Define and execute UAT plans with business users when no dedicated QA is available.
• Engage with business stakeholders in leasing / supply chain context.
• Collaborate in a remote, distributed delivery team environment.
• Maintain source control discipline (Git), branch-merge workflows, and code reviews.
• Operate within existing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).

Experience

• Mid-level developer with 10 to 15 years of professional Java development experience delivering production systems.
• Track record of successfully owning features or modules end to end on a Java enterprise application.
• Prior experience working under architectural oversight in a structured delivery model
• Java & Open Liberty (Must Have)
• Strong, current Java development experience.
• Deep, hands‑on Open Liberty experience server configuration (server.xml, features, data sources, JNDI), application packaging, deployment, and runtime troubleshooting.
• Solid command of Jakarta EE / Java EE building blocks used by TLS (Servlets, JAX‑RS / REST, JPA, JMS, CDI, EJB where applicable).
• Working knowledge of JVM tuning, thread-dump and heap-dump analysis, and basic performance triage.

Database (Must Have)

• Solid relational database engineering skills — SQL, query tuning, indexing strategy, transaction control.
• Comfortable owning a schema: data modelling, migrations, and reasoning about referential integrity for a transactional system.
• Experience working with the database that backs TLS .

End‑to‑End Ownership & Self‑Sufficient Testing (Must Have)

• Demonstrated ability to take a backlog item from requirements through delivery without daily supervision.
• Self‑sufficient in testing: unit tests, integration tests, and structured manual end‑to‑end test runs across DEV / QA / UAT.
• Familiar with test‑data setup, regression coverage, and verifying fixes against a real database back end.
• Comfortable defining and executing UAT plans with business users when no dedicated QA is available.

Delivery & Collaboration

• Strong written and verbal communication; able to engage directly with business stakeholders in a leasing / supply chain context.
• Experience working in a remote, distributed delivery team.
• Source control discipline (Git), branch‑and‑merge workflow, and code‑review participation.
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD concepts (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar) sufficient to operate within an existing pipeline.
