Premier Inn Hotels LLC invites an experienced Java Developer / Software Engineer to join our data-focused teams in Houston or Plano, Texas. You will design, build, and operate resilient data pipelines and cloud-based applications using Java/J2EE, PySpark, AWS, and modern CI/CD practices.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, ETL and streaming data pipelines, and Agile delivery, with emphasis on security and reliability in production environments; USC/GC required for this contract position.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java/J2EE application development.
• Extensive hands-on experience with PySpark/Spark.
• Experience developing ETL and streaming data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with AWS SQS, Lambda, S3 and RDS.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and/or Java.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer / Software Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Java/J2EE, PySpark/Spark, AWS services, ETL and streaming data pipelines, and Agile delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to design, build, deploy, and operate resilient data pipelines and cloud-based applications. Experience with modern infrastructure-as-code practices and emerging LLM technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance Java/J2EE applications and data pipeline solutions.

Build and support ETL and streaming data pipelines using PySpark/Spark.

Leverage AWS services including SQS, Lambda, S3, and RDS for application and data workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Hands-on experience with AWS services such as:

Advanced proficiency in Python and/or Java.

Working knowledge of software engineering disciplines including analysis, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Strong experience working within an Agile delivery environment.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Shell scripting on Unix/Linux systems.
