Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking a senior Java engineer to join our enterprise software team in Newark, DE. You will design, develop, and maintain high-volume Java J2EE applications using Spring, Kafka, and REST/SOAP services.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, optimize performance, implement TDD, and contribute to scalable architecture. A strong background in Oracle SQL/PLSQL and NoSQL databases is required, with experience in Maven, Git, and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on Core Java / Java J2EE development experience.

Job description

• 7+ years of hands-on Core Java / Java J2EE development experience
• Strong Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot
• Strong RESTful Web Services and SOAP Web Services
• Strong SQL, preferably Oracle SQL/PLSQL
• Strong Object-Oriented Design and Java programming
• Experience building high-volume, scalable, highly available, distributed enterprise applications
• Experience with Apache Kafka for data publishing and consuming
• Experience with JUnit, performance testing, optimization, and code analysis
• Experience with Oracle SQL/PLSQL
• Experience with Cassandra or NoSQL distributed databases
• Strong knowledge of design patterns, including Creational, Behavioral, and JEE patterns
• Experience with Maven, Git/Bitbucket, CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Agile and SDLC, including Test-Driven Development
• Experience handling cross-functional/distributed development teams
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver software releases in a changing environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI-enabled development tools for coding, code analysis, productivity, and software engineering workflows
