Job summary

Gov Services Hub is seeking a Java Developer to collaborate with cross-functional teams in Newark, DE. You will develop, test, and maintain Java/J2EE applications using Spring Boot, build REST/SOAP services, and integrate with ORM frameworks for persistence.

The role involves working in an Agile environment, utilizing Maven, CI, TDD/Mockito, and deploying to Red Hat OpenShift. Front-end JavaScript tasks may be required as needed.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business and tech teams to deliver software solutions.
• Develop, test, and maintain Java applications using Spring Boot.
• Implement REST/SOAP web services and microservices.
• Utilize ORM frameworks such as Hibernate or MyBatis for persistence.
• Develop and consume services using CXF, JAX-WS/JAX-RS, JSON/XML.
• Work with Maven, CI practices, and TDD/Mockito.
• Use Eclipse or RAD IDEs for development.
• Write efficient SQL for Oracle/Sybase/SQL Server and optimize queries.
• Deploy and manage apps on OpenShift and monitor messaging with Kafka/MQ.
• Participate in Agile or iterative SDLC processes.
• Apply OO design principles and leverage front-end JS when needed.

Job Summary - Java Developer

Location: Newark DE

• Collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver software solutions.


• Develop, test, and maintain applications using Java/J2EE technologies.


• Utilize Spring Boot as the primary framework; experience with Spring Batch and Spring Integration is a plus.


• Apply object-oriented design and programming principles.


• Implement persistence using ORM frameworks such as Hibernate, iBatis/MyBatis, Kafka, or JPA.


• Develop and consume REST/SOAP web services and microservices (using CXF, JAXWS/JAXRS, JSON, XML).


• Use source control tools like Bitbucket, SVN, or Perforce.


• Employ Maven for project management, and apply TDD and CI practices using JUnit and Mockito.


• Work with development environments such as Eclipse or RAD.


• Write and optimize SQL queries for at least one RDMS (Oracle, Sybase, or SQL Server).


• Deploy and manage applications on RedHat OpenShift.


• Integrate messaging solutions using Kafka or MQ.


• Participate in Agile or iterative development methodologies throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).


• Leverage JavaScript as a tertiary skill for front-end or integration tasks as required.
