Job summary

NTT DATA North America seeks a Java Developer to join its Irving, TX team. You will design, implement, test, and maintain Java backend applications using Spring Boot and RESTful services.

You’ll work with relational databases, perform code reviews, and collaborate with QA, DevOps, and UI colleagues to deliver scalable solutions. The ideal candidate has strong Java skills, hands-on experience with Spring, ORM like Hibernate/JPA, and familiarity with Git and CI/CD basics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8 or above) and Spring Framework / Spring Boot
• Experience designing RESTful services and ORM frameworks like Hibernate/JPA
• Hands-on SQL experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.
• Familiarity with Git and basic CI/CD concepts
• Exposure to microservices and containerization is a plus

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java‑based backend applications

Skills Required

• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8 or above)
• Experience with Spring Framework / Spring Boot
• Good understanding of OOP concepts, data structures, and design patterns
• Experience in developing RESTful web services
• Hands‑on experience with SQL and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.)
• Familiarity with ORM frameworks such as Hibernate / JPA
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git)

Tools & Technologies

• Build tools: Maven or Gradle
• IDEs: IntelliJ IDEA / Eclipse
• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with application servers (Tomcat, etc.)
• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus
• Basic knowledge of Docker or containerization is an added advantage

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)

Nice to Have

• Exposure to microservices architecture
• Experience with unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito)
• Basic understanding of front‑end technologies (React/Angular) is a bonus

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting hourly range for this remote role is ($40-$50/hour). This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on several factors, including the candidate's actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.

This position is eligible for company benefits that will depend on the nature of the role offered.
