Job summary

BeaconFire Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a Java developer to write clean, scalable code and own the full development lifecycle within an Agile team.

You will tackle API design, testing, and deployment, and collaborate on AI integrations using Spring AI and LangChain4j. Candidates should have basic Java skills, SDLC understanding, and familiarity with relational databases, APIs, and data structures.

Responsibilities

• Write clean and efficient code with emphasis on maintainability and reusability.

• Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, APIs, and deployment procedures.
• Ship to production: APIs, monitoring/observability, CI/CD, and security best practices.
• Stay up to date with latest Java technologies.
• AI Integration: implement RAG pipelines using Spring AI and LangChain4j, including vector database integration.
• Stay current with RAG tech and embeddings, chunking strategies, retrieval optimization, and reranking techniques.

Job description

• Stay up to date with the latest technologies for Java development.

AI Integration:

• Implement RAG pipelines using Spring AI and LangChain4j with vector database integration.
• Stay up to date with the latest RAG technologies and best practices, including chunking strategies, embeddings, retrieval optimization, and reranking techniques.

Requirement:

• Decent understanding of the software development life cycle.
• Basic programming skills using object‑oriented programming (OOP) languages with in-depth knowledge of common APIs and data structures like Collections, Maps, lists, Sets, etc.
• Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), basic SQL query language skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science (CS).
• 0-1 year of practical experience in Java coding.
• Experience using Spring, Maven, React.js, HTML, CSS.
• Knowledge of other contemporary Java technologies (e.g., Weblogic, RabbitMQ, Tomcat, etc.)
• Basic understanding of AI/LLM concepts.
• Spring AI or LangChain4j experience.
• RAG application building or vector database experience.
