Job summary

Swift is a leading provider of secure financial messaging services, with a global presence and offices in the United States. We are seeking a skilled Java backend developer to build, scale, and secure enterprise-grade services.

You will work on RESTful APIs, Oracle databases, and Linux-based components within an agile team. Responsibilities include requirements analysis, design documentation, debugging production issues, and adhering to our security standards.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven hands-on development with Java and OO design.
• Experience with backend services, Oracle SQL/PLSQL.
• REST APIs and web services; cryptographic security knowledge.
• Linux platform development and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Conduct requirements analysis for new features, enhancements, and supportability improvements.
• Produce and maintain solution papers, design documents, and technical specifications.
• Participate in design discussions and design/code walkthroughs.
• Develop, maintain, and support Java-based backend services and components.
• Implement and maintain integrations with Oracle databases (SQL/PLSQL).
• Contribute to cryptographic and security-related functionality.
• Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and fix problems.
• Contribute to new feature development and maintenance of existing systems.
• Follow Swift security guidelines and coding standards.
• Adhere to reference architecture, design principles, and release methodologies.
• Perform performance analysis and improve reliability and performance.
