Job summary

Wipro Limited, a global technology services company, is seeking an experienced Software Engineer in Austin to design, build, and maintain scalable Java-based backend services and data-driven systems.

You will work with Big Data tools (Iceberg, Spark), containerization (Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions) to deliver robust platforms while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Java (8+) with multithreading and design patterns.
• Experience with Iceberg/Spark/Hive and data pipelines.
• Experience containerizing apps with Docker and deploying with Kubernetes.
• Proven CI/CD experience (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions).
• Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and Git workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based backend services.
• Build data pipelines using Apache Iceberg for large datasets.
• Leverage Spark, Kafka, Hive as needed for features.
• Containerize apps and manage deployments with Kubernetes.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate builds and deployments.
• Collaborate with data engineers, DevOps, QA, and product managers.
• Write clean, well-tested code and monitor production performance.
• Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
• Ensure data quality, security, and compliance across services.
