Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Java Backend Architect with 15+ years of experience to lead the architecture and design of high-performance, scalable, and reliable backend systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing large-scale enterprise applications, driving technical innovation, and leading cross-functional teams. This role requires expertise in Java technologies, cloud architecture, and microservices design, with a strong focus on mentoring and guiding development teams to success.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of complex backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Develop and implement strategies for high availability, scalability, and security for backend applications.
• Act as the technical authority for backend architecture, setting standards, reviewing designs, and making critical architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to define technical requirements and drive solutions that meet business goals.
• Design and develop high-performing RESTful APIs, integrations, and middleware solutions for enterprise applications.
• Architect cloud-native systems on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, utilizing best practices for containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ensure the integrity of system architecture across all stages of the software development lifecycle, from inception to deployment.
• Drive the adoption of DevOps and continuous integration practices, leveraging CI/CD pipelines for faster and more reliable releases.
• Optimize and refactor existing systems for better performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in backend software development, with at least 7 years in an architecture or leadership role.
• Extensive experience with Java 11+, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proven experience in designing and deploying scalable, distributed systems and services in a production environment.
• Strong background in database design, with expertise in both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Expert-level proficiency in message queues and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Advanced knowledge of CI/CD tools, containerization (Docker), and Kubernetes for orchestration.
• Strong experience with DevOps practices, automation, and system monitoring (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
• Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, ensuring high standards in code quality, performance, and scalability.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GraphQL, gRPC, or other advanced API frameworks.
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event Sourcing, and CQRS patterns.
• Experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and working in cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of security best practices in backend development (e.g., OAuth, JWT, data encryption).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
