Job summary

TalentOla seeks a senior Java/AWS engineer with 8+ years of hands-on experience to build and maintain backend services in an enterprise setting. You will work with Java, Python, Bash, Kubernetes, and Spring Boot, integrating Kafka messaging and relational databases.

The role emphasizes data engineering with Spark and AWS tools (Glue, S3, Lambda, EKS), plus exposure to Spark/Airflow jobs and strong regression testing skills (JUnit/Mockito/Cucumber).

Qualifications

• 8+ years of applied experience with Java and some Python and Bash scripting.
• Strong background with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
• Expertise in Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka.
• Proficient with relational databases (Postgres/Oracle) and SQL.
• Hands-on cloud work with AWS services (Glue, S3, Lambda, EKS).
• Data engineering knowledge with Spark; familiarity with Airflow is a plus.
• Experience in issue resolution in production and regression testing (JUnit/Mockito/Cucumber).
• Exposure to CI/CD practices and security considerations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot production incidents in an enterprise environment.
• Develop backend services using Java, Python, and Bash; leverage Kubernetes and Spring Boot.
• Work with data engineering tools like Spark, Airflow, and AWS data services.
• Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines and testing strategies; monitor logs with Splunk.

Job description

Java + AWS JD:

Must have 8+ years applied experience with Java and some Python and Bash scripting

Must have worked on container technologies like Kubernetes

Must have Expertise in Spring and Spring Boot.

Must have worked on at least one messaging infrastructure like Kafka

Must be Proficient in Relational Database like Postgres/Oracle

Must have in depth knowledge on SQL.

Expert in maintaining and troubleshooting Incidents in production in an enterprise environment

Exposure to cloud technologies especially hands-on with AWS Glue, S3,Lambda,EKS etc .

Best fit if Person has Data Engineering Background especially used Apache Spark.

Experience in Splunk and analysing Splunk Logs.

Exposure to regression testing and TDD, JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber

Experience in using Github copilot for spec driven dev

Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security

Experience in Spark and Airflow jobs dev and maintenance

Good to have knowledge on NOSQL Database like DynamoDB
