Job summary

Cognizant seeks a Senior Java AWS Architect to design and deliver scalable, secure enterprise applications using Java and AWS. You will collaborate with Product, UX, DevOps, and development teams to build modern cloud-native solutions from the ground up.

3 days/week hybrid work in Atlanta, GA or Raleigh, NC, with opportunities to mentor engineers and drive architecture decisions across teams. Strong focus on RESTful APIs, CI/CD, and security best practices.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise applications.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Security.
• Extensive experience architecting and implementing cloud-based solutions on AWS.
• Proven ability to lead architecture decisions across teams.
• Strong SQL and database design expertise.
• Deep experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Swagger/OpenAPI documentation and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with SonarQube, Veracode, and related quality/security tools.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices, testing, and DevOps.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop enterprise applications with Java and AWS.
• Design and implement cloud-native, scalable, secure solutions on AWS.
• Lead technical design discussions and guide engineering teams.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs with Swagger/OpenAPI documentation.
• Collaborate with Product/UX/Design to build authentication solutions.
• Write high-quality, testable code enabling CI/CD and DevOps initiatives.
• Build/maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines; leverage SonarQube and Veracode.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards (GitFlow).
• Optimize performance, reliability, and maintainability of apps.
• Mentor developers and provide technical leadership across lifecycle.
