Job summary

V Group Inc. is seeking a Java Architect for a 30-month contract with the New York State Department of Health in Menands, NY (Hybrid). The role focuses on designing web services, cloud-based analytics, and security programs within the SHINNY initiative.

You will lead development, testing, and release activities across environments. Ideal candidates have 7+ years of experience with web apps, REST, AWS, and Python data processing.

Qualifications

• 8+4 years? 84 months of experience in designing and deploying web apps and REST backends.
• 84 months of AWS cloud native/hybrid app design and deployment.
• 84 months of data processing, ETL and analysis with Python (Pandas, NumPy).
• 84 months of system-to-system app design using REST APIs and Spring Security.

Responsibilities

• Design web services and applications, researching and documenting technical designs.
• Develop programming solutions and provide customer technical support.
• Develop unit tests and testing processes to ensure conformity with business requirements.
• Implement change management processes.
• Manage release management activities, including testing, promoting, and releasing applications across environments.
• Lead code critique sessions and oversee technical design documentation.
• Lead database design and development activities.
• Implement user-interface enhancements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Project

This position will support cloud support services, including cloud integration technical assistance, cloud-based analytics and security programs, and training for department personnel on the use of cloud-based tools. The project is part of the State Health Information Network for New York (SHINNY) initiative.

Responsibilities

• 84 months of experience designing and building cloud native and hybrid applications in AWS.
• 84 months of experience with data processing, ETL and analysis with Python using libraries Pandas, Numpy.
• 84 months of experience in design, implementation and deployment of system-to-system applications using REST APIs, REST Clients, Spring Security.
• 60 months of experience with relational and NoSQL databases, Oracle, Postgres, DynamoDB.
• 60 months of experience in programming public sector government IT projects.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or Information Technology from an accredited institution.
