Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Cary, NC seeks an experienced Backend Engineer to lead design, development and delivery of scalable Java-based applications. The role emphasizes Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices with cloud and DevOps exposure.

You will drive architecture discussions, review code, mentor developers, and ensure timely delivery aligned to business priorities while supporting CI/CD and production stability.

Qualifications

• Backend experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, unit testing, code reviews, and performance troubleshooting.
• Cloud familiarity with Azure or AWS, containers, build pipelines, monitoring, and deployment practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design, development, and delivery of scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices-based architecture.
• Own technical solutioning, architecture discussions, code reviews, design reviews, and engineering best practices across the development lifecycle.
• Guide and mentor developers, unblock technical issues, improve code quality, and ensure timely delivery aligned to business and product priorities.
• Collaborate with business, product, QA, DevOps, and architecture teams to translate requirements into clean, maintainable, and secure technical solutions.
• Support CI/CD, release readiness, production stability, performance improvements, and technical debt reduction activities.
