SMART TECH SKILLS LLC in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Developer/Programmer Analyst to design, develop, and optimize Jasper Reports, Oracle SQL, and PL/SQL within an Agile SDLC. You will collaborate with agency stakeholders to ensure accurate statewide reporting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience developing and maintaining Jasper Reports.
• 8+ years of experience executing developer unit testing.
• 8+ years of experience working within Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
• 5+ years of experience designing, coding, and supporting database solutions using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, enhance, and maintain complex Jasper Reports for enterprise-scale reporting solutions.

Role Overview

The Developer / Programmer Analyst performs advanced report development, data aggregation, and database engineering in support of a statewide education data initiative. This role focuses on designing, improving, and enhancing Jasper Reports, writing complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL stored procedures, and performing unit testing within an Agile SDLC framework. The analyst collaborates across multiple agency stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and efficacy for statewide school district reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Jasper Reports & Database Engineering

• Design, build, enhance, and maintain complex Jasper Reports for enterprise-scale reporting solutions.
• Write, optimize, and support complex database queries, PL/SQL scripts, functions, and stored procedures in Oracle environments.
• Perform data aggregation, data extraction, and database analysis to ensure report output accuracy and efficacy.

Agile Development & Unit Testing

• Participate in Agile/Scrum development ceremonies, executing defined code changes within scheduled release cycles.
• Develop and execute unit testing protocols to validate code quality, data accuracy, and report formatting prior to release.
• Manage project scope, devise approaches to solve complex technical problems, and provide ongoing updates on project status.

Documentation & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Create and maintain technical documentation, system specifications, and report runbooks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams, business analysts, and agency stakeholders to align reports with business needs.

Required Qualifications

• 8 or more years of experience developing and maintaining custom Jasper Reports.
• 8 or more years of experience executing developer unit testing and code validation.
• 8 or more years of experience working within Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
• 5 or more years of experience designing, coding, and supporting database solutions using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 or more years of experience using Jira and Bitbucket for issue tracking, code repositories, and version control.
• Experience working with statewide education data systems or public sector reporting platforms.
