JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Movie and TV data/metadata Specialist to join our Japanese team. You will be working with a leading consumer technology company as a contributor to the finished products released in the Japanese market and also across the globe. You will evaluate the quality of both written and spoken text for services as it relates to your area of linguistic and geographic expertise. In addition, you may also work on content review and creation for Music and TV applications. You will work cooperatively with international teams to monitor and improve the quality of client products and partner data integrations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Quality Assurance of various Movies and TV products’ data/metadata by accurately following testing instructions and test cases.
2. Content review and creation adheres to project-specific quality standards, trademarks, style guides, and client-preferred checklists and glossaries.
3. Complete assigned tasks in a quality and timely manner.
4. Ability to stay motivated and deliver results while working on repetitive tasks.
5. Ability to prioritize tasks and issues quickly and efficiently.
6. Drive to deliver results in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing requirements.
7. Highly organized with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
8. Ability to navigate ambiguity and make informed judgment calls with information at hand. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
9. Passion for and knowledge of the film and TV industry.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Have native-level fluency in Japanese and Japanese culture awareness.
2. Fluent or Business level fluency in English to work with global clients and teammates.
3. Experience with advanced spreadsheets.
4. At least one year of experience working as a QA, Data Analyst, or similar role.
5. Basic knowledge of iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.
6. Up-to-date awareness of current and common technical language usage in Japanese.
7. Knowledge of the Korean language would be an advantage (but not essential).

JOB INFORMATION:

Location: Remote in Japan

Full-time employment

Start date: Immediately

Duration: 12 months (potential for further contract extension)

Work Hours and Shifts: 8 hours a day, a standard 40 hours. Sun - Thu 9:00 to 18:00 or Tue - Sat 9:00 to 18:00 Japan time, with 1-hour lunchtime.
