Job summary

Summit Building Services is seeking an area supervisor for its janitorial team serving commercial buildings in Westlake, Fairview Park, North Olmsted, Elyria and surrounding areas. You will supervise, train and support staff, coordinate coverage and work with HR to ensure proper staffing and training.

The role covers 30-40 hours weekly with a 5pm-12am varying schedule, and pays $19.50 per hour. This is a full-time, 2nd/3rd shift position with weekend duties and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising janitorial teams.
• Ability to manage scheduling and coverage.
• Strong communication with clients and HR.

Responsibilities

• Work with employees to handle all client requests or complaints in a timely manner.
• Supervise, train, motivate, and develop team members.
• Work with HR to ensure all jobs are properly staffed and trained.
• Arrange for coverage in the event of an employee absence.
• Disciplinary action and/ or termination of employees when necessary.
• Perform regular inspections of buildings to ensure that specifications are being met.
• Correct deficiencies in buildings whenever necessary.
• Complete work tickets.
• Send reports to Area Manager.
• Recommendation of special project work when needed.
• Complete ongoing education to gain competency in their position.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws.
