Bestway Services, Inc. is seeking a dependable and experienced Working Janitorial Supervisor to lead our custodial team at Nashville Electric Service (NES) in Nashville, TN. The role requires supervising 3–5 employees, leading by example, and assisting with cleaning duties to meet quality standards.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM, Full-Time, weekends off. Starting pay is $18.00 per hour, with a focus on teamwork, safety, and customer service in a professional environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years janitorial supervisory experience.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience supervising in a commercial janitorial environment.

This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supervising a team of 3-5 janitorial employees while actively assisting with cleaning duties to ensure the facility consistently meets our quality standards. The ideal candidate leads by example, promotes teamwork, provides excellent customer service, and is committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and professional work environment.

Pay

Starting at $18.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of 3-5 janitorial employees while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
• Lead by example through professionalism, reliability, punctuality, and excellent attendance.
• Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to communicate expectations, safety reminders, work assignments, and daily goals.
• Promote teamwork by motivating employees and recognizing individual strengths while providing coaching and guidance as needed.
• Assign daily cleaning tasks and monitor employee performance to ensure contract standards are consistently met.
• Perform janitorial duties alongside team members and provide coverage during staffing shortages or increased workloads.
• Conduct daily facility inspections and walkthroughs, documenting findings with before-and-after photos and reporting results to management.
• Ensure all daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual cleaning tasks are completed according to established schedules.
• Inspect janitorial closets and storage areas daily to ensure cleanliness, organization, and adequate inventory levels.
• Issue cleaning supplies and equipment as needed and monitor inventory to prevent shortages.
• Train employees on cleaning procedures, equipment operation, chemical usage, safety practices, and company expectations.
• Ensure all employees are properly uniformed, well-groomed, and represent Bestway Services professionally.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer concerns, requests, and special projects, including handling customer needs in the absence of the manager.
• Report maintenance concerns, equipment malfunctions, and safety issues promptly.
• Work closely with management regarding employee performance, coaching, and progressive disciplinary action when necessary.
• Prepare shift pass-down reports to communicate important updates and operational concerns to the next shift.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, chemical handling procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years of janitorial supervisory experience is required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience supervising employees in a commercial janitorial or custodial environment.
• Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, floor care, equipment operation, and proper chemical usage.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to coach, train, motivate, and hold employees accountable.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
