Ada S McKinley Community Services Inc. is seeking a hands-on Janitorial Supervisor to oversee daily custodial operations at contract sites in Aurora, IL. This full-time, on-site role requires coordinating crew members, scheduling work, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Reporting to the Site Project Manager, you will train staff, monitor performance, manage supplies, and handle payroll-related records while maintaining budgeted expenditures.

Qualifications

• Completion of High School is required.
• Three years of experience in custodial services and two years in supervision.
• Ability to supervise, train, and coordinate janitorial staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Site Project Manager with training, developing, and supervising crew leaders and janitors.
• Prepare daily work schedules and assign relief personnel.
• Develop periodic cleaning schedules.
• Adhere to quality control standards and perform inspections.
• Ensure staff safety and wellbeing on the job site.
• Maintain inventories of housekeeping supplies and payroll records.

Description

Basic Function: Supervises the daily operation of the janitorial project; coordinates custodial personnel in the daily maintenance and cleaning of all contractual buildings. Under supervision of the Project Manager.

Reporting Relationship:

Reports To: Site Project Manager

Supervises (Position Title): Janitors (contract service workers), Supervisor of Janitorial Services

• Assist the Site Project Manager with training, developing, and supervises all crew leaders, and janitors at the contract site to ensure efficient and timely work completion.
• Prepares daily work schedules and assigns relief personnel to fill in for absent/vacating staff.
• Assist Site Project Manager with developing periodic cleaning schedules.
• Adheres to quality control standards and procedures at the project site.
• Makes regular quality control inspections in accordance with established standards and ensures quality parameters are being met.
• Ensures the safety and wellbeing of staff on the job site through training and communication.
• In the absence of the Project Manager, serves as the point of contact with the contract officer representative regarding contract specifications and requirements.
• Implements corrective action measures regarding performance in accordance with program policies and procedures.
• Maintains appropriate inventories of housekeeping supplies; develops systems for distributing and monitoring supply usage.
• Prepares payroll time sheets and personnel records.
• Assist Project Manager with developing and implementing regular equipment maintenance, repair, and inspection program.
• Attends supervisory conferences.
• * Requests purchases of supplies and equipment within budgetary limits; monitors program expenditures.
• * Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Position requires completion of High School.
• Three years of experience in field of custodial services,
• Two years in supervision.

Mental/Physical Demands: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Work requires prolonged concentration using a computer in analyzing and manipulating data. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Environmental Conditions: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Duties are performed in a typical office environment. No unusual or adverse working conditions exist.
